To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, the Santa Cecilia Choir and cellist Luigi Piovano will take us on an intense and evocative musical journey dedicated to the relationship between music, words, and spirituality.
The highlight of the evening will be Sofia Gubajdulina’s *Canticle of the Sun*, a composition of great expressive intensity for cello, percussion, celesta, and choir, preceded by Anton Arensky’s *Three Vocal Quartets, Op. 57*, in an intimate and contemplative atmosphere.
